This is the improv event of the year. Improv virgin or improv nerd, there are shows and shows and shows I’d recommend.
Most shows require you to get a pass ($25). A few are ticketed separately. Here’s one set of recommendations if you go the pass route:
- Code Duello: Hamilton and Burr. Last year this was really amazing. Two-person improv from Boston around the event of Hamilton and Burr’s duel.
- I Eat Pandas. Everyone’s favorite two-woman musical improv team. Last year they got a standing ovation.
- Satellites. Star-studded (if that’s your thing). Rob Riggle, Jason Sudeikis, Ed Helms.
- Upright Citizens Brigade. The original dudes (looks like sans Poehler).
- Whiskey Rebellion. Veteran Harold team out of Chicago. Meanwhile, everyone will be at Bassprov.
- Improvised Shakespeare. Imagine your worst fears of how terribly wrong this could go. Invert them. (And I should plug Robber Baron since FUTURO’s Jamison is on it).
- Omelette Vision. Delaney, Merritt, Secunda. Ingredients for awesome.
I could go on. Oh yes. And honestly, all of the shows at Kate Murphy are awesome, so why recommend any?
BTW FUTURO has a 6:30am slot on Saturday. If you just happen to be nearby at that hour.
